Hervé Hotier Miyazawa flute

We are very happy to welcome flautist Hervé Hotier to the great family of Miyazawa artists. Our long friendship led us to meet again thanks to an instrument that immediately appealed to him. Those who have had the pleasure of participating in his masterclasses know what a talented teacher he can be. And Miyazawa now has the chance to count Hervé Hotier among its ambassadors and together we will come to meet flautists to share our passion.

Originally from the North of France, Hervé Hotier was born into a family of circus and performing arts enthusiasts. He began music at the age of six at the National Regional Conservatory of Douai. There he will receive complete training in flute, chamber music and musical training. He studied at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris and in other training settings with Michel Debost, Pierre-Yves Artaud, Ida Ribera, Philippe Boucly. He began his career as principal flute of the San Sebastian Symphony Orchestra (Spain) (1990-1994). Since that time, Hervé Hotier has been regularly invited for concerts in France and abroad: Spain, Canada, Morocco, Guyana, the Caribbean…

In 2003, Hervé Hotier was appointed professor at the Higher School of Music of Catalonia (ESMUC, Barcelona, Spain), where he taught until 2008. He led numerous master classes and regularly prepared students for instrumental competitions and national and international educational programs. As such, he is invited to several summer academies: Lions International Summer University of Music (France), Tonraum Academy of Fiss (Austria), Academy of St Chinian (France), Academy of Music of Tarragona (Spain), International Academy in the Land of George Sand (France).

He has taught since 2004 at the Regional Conservatory of Clermont-Ferrand.
