We are very pleased to present to you the NOVA ligature manufactured by Bambù in Argentina.
You certainly know the woven ligature which has contributed to the fame of Bambù throughout the world. It is played (among others) by Claude Delangle, saxophone professor at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris (CNSMP). On the basis of this ligature Bambù has innovated by adapting a designer tightening screw as well as a removable resonance plate.
NOVA is the first ligature to combine a braided cord with screw adjustment and a pressure plate. Its braiding system makes the reed vibrate in a unique way. The pressure plate on the reed allows you to vary the sounds. The innovative tuning system offers a wide range of tension possibilities which help to very precisely control the vibrational energy of the reed.
Depending on one’s preference of tone color or dynamics, you “hang” the pressure plate on the fibers of the ligature or you leave it off.
Recommendations: After placing the Nova ligature on the mouthpiece, adjust it to achieve the desired sound. Over the first few days this may require several adjustments as the woven ropes begin to naturally adapt and copy the shape of the beak. Do not overtighten the screw. Over-tuning will reduce the vibration ability of the reed.
